There are many activities to help kids with large motor skills. One idea is to play a dice game with them. Have a large die that is easy for little hands to hold. Allow them to throw the die. The number that lands up is the number of times they get to do a certain activity. For example: they roll a 3 so together, you jump three times. You may also alter this by assigning an activity to each number. So for example, when the three is rolled, they clap their hands, if they roll a two they give you a hug, etc. This activity can be used a number of ways with a little imagination and thought on what your child may be in need of practicing. Below is the pattern to create your own die. See below for instructions.
Using a square, empty tissue box, wrap it once in white paper.
Using the provided pattern, cut out the pips along the lines and glue or tape them to corresponding sides of the box.
I laminated mine for endurance but it is not necessary to do so.
After the pips are in place, I used packing tape to secure the edges. Again, this step is not necessary but it may help with the endurance of the die.
Now it should be ready to have some fun. Let me know how it works! Thanks
